The close mountains provide 700-1000m vertical drop and up to 1500m if you fly to the remote Marma and Kebnekaise. A fantastic experience in a wonderful wilderness area. And why do we go in May? Excludes: Helicopter and Mountain guide costs (depending on snow and weather conditions, number of flights, number of people in the group). Drinks and personal expenses. Insurance.

The Resort:

Riksgransen is a medium sized ski resort situated 200km north of the article circle making it one of the most northernly resorts in the world. It is famous for its spring and summer skiing (the lifts remain open until the end of June) and its breathtaking landscape. High up in the beautiful Lapland wilderness, Riksgransen is the perfect place to experience both the "midnight sun" -in late May the sun never truly sets for over a 100 days- and the "Northern lights" that are made more visible due to the reflecting snow and minimal light pollution. These stunning natural light phenomenons, as well as the wonderfully hospitable resort, make for a truly magical ski trip.

 

 

 

 

 The Skiing:

As far as helicopter skiing is concerned Riksgransen is the perfect place for it. In the more than capable hands of the fully certified Heli team, simply use a helicopter as your very own private lift and follow a certified mountain guide to find you the best snow in the 60 000 square km domain, that includes over a hundred skiable peaks. For any true skier helicopter skiing in areas like Marma or Kebnekaise is truly a once in a lifetime experience (unless you book again!). In the event of bad weather, the piste domain is not huge but the chair lifts allow for a respectable 410m of vertical descent and 24km of pistes. Riksgransen also offers a spectacular haven for off-piste skiers and boarders. As opposed to most resorts, the best ski and snow conditions come late in the season, between April and June, making the domain particularly famous for great spring snow!
